From the 24th of November onwards, we will be using our new stager service, called
StageIT.
StageIT uses a new login infrastructure, as will all LOFAR data services in the future.
This means that you will be able to log in using the credentials of your own institute if it is connected to the EduGAIN federation for research.
You will be asked to select your institute when logging in, and at that point search for available institutes.
If you do not have access to an institute account that is part of the EduGAIN federation, you can sign up for an
eduID.
Before accessing StageIT for the first time, you first need to apply for membership of the LOFAR Science Community
by clicking
this link, and log in with your federation account.
For the time being, access to the LTA itself (i.e. this page) will require the use of the old LOFAR user account.
In case you do not have a LOFAR account yet, this can be requested through the SDC Helpdesk.
! There is a known issue with retrieving files due to invalid SSL certificates at one of the LTA sites (PSNC). This is being worked on. !
In preparation for the start of LOFAR2.0 operations, we have started the process of removing early cycle data from the LOFAR Long-Term Archive.
This includes data that has been observed and/or processed during cycle 0 up to and including cycle 6,
i.e. from start of LOFAR operations until 1/12/2016. The data that will be retired has been selected by careful analysis
and verification with the LOFAR community for not representing legacy value. Existing entries in the LTA catalogue will
continue to be findable by querying the database but the associated data products will no longer be available for
staging and downloads. As a result of the data retirement, attempts to stage data based on previously extracted file
locations may fail if these include data being retired.
Welcome to the LOFAR Long Term Archive (LTA) web service
This service is the main access point for searching and downloading data from the LOFAR LTA.
Please visit the documentation
for a description on how to use this service.
From March 1 2015 onwards, cycle data which have passed the proprietary period will be publicly available.
All metadata in the Archive can be queried anonymously at anytime, but downloading public data can only be done
by registered users (follow the "Create account" link on the LTA login page). Non-public data can only be downloaded by project members.
Note: for the first cycles of LOFAR operations, part of the data were ingested in the archive without metadata.
These data cannot be found using the standard search parameters, except for the appropriate Observation ID.
When unspecified data are present in a project, this is listed in the "Unspecified" column on the Projects page.
Data can still be requested using the "Project" pulldown in the various Search options.
A list of all LOFAR observing cycles and approved projects can be found
here".
For more information on this web service see the Long Term Archive User Manual.
This system was developed as part of the Target project. Target was

by Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland (SNN) and the Groningen Municipality. The
project was financially supported by the European Fund for Regional Development
and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (Pieken in de Delta),
the Province of Groningen and the Province of Drenthe.
This infrastructure is part of a project that has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020
research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101004719 [ORP].
